I. HAD. FUN!!
The event I have been planning, sacrificing other classes for, and suffering over the minutiae of, has finally come and gone. The show is still up, but will come down this weekend to make room for the Juried Student Art Show.
I would like to thank everyone who helped me along the way:
Mr. Hansen, my fifth grade teacher who introduced clay to me and probably because I had a crush on him I have continued to love it.
Diane from the Clay Place, in Livermore, who reinvigorated my love of clay as an adult.
Dave for his encouragement and support, criticisms and critiques.
Katie Frank, instructor of ceramics at Ohlone College, Mission San Jose, CA, whose passion and enthusiasm for clay was contagious and who let me skip the tedium of the NEED to throw the perfect bowl.
Sheri Leigh O'Conner whose kinky passion for clay is infectious and who encouraged me to continue playing outside the expected realm of clay.
J. Damron for his questions into the why not the how of what I am doing.
Mary Kenny for showing me how to do the ink prints even if I wasn't in her class
Russell Dudley, although I originally considered him a butthead, I am now grateful for his friendship, encouragement, support, ideas and Ray-o-gram techniques and without whom I would never have done as much work for this show as I have.
Erika Cole (I'm dropping the O'Malley) who hasn't been a bitch about me not putting much energy into her class, since I had too many classes this semester, and one of them had to get less attention in order for me to seriously apply myself to what is every BFA student's top priority - our show.
Cath, Cody, Alex, Lexi, Logan, Becca Jane, Sheri, Kat and Russell for helping me set up (and who hopefully will be around next weekend...) Sorry to Alex for the mess her lip trasnformed into and a special thanks to Russell and Logan for doing the impossible-for-me stuff.
Deanna Critchely for being the Canadian representative and for helping clean and serve at the after-party.
Laurel, Crystal, Deanna and Kenna for their unwavering support and encouragement.
Thank you all - I had a blast!
