"I'll I will" poem on alternative writing surface
The zipper on the tent was destroyed and as it is cheaper to buy a new tent than repair/replace the zipper, the tent became a surface for a poem “I’ll I will” written in two stages; the first stage was a subtle expose, a rant/vent and stream of consciousness word therapy since my husband and I had decided to divorce, he had not yet moved out but had started dating and my love life had became a confusion. The second addition was to fill in the blank spots and came after I moved to Oakland, after spending my first few months here in hibernation, suffering from culture shock, not willing to venture out into the scary unknown city. It is full of the clichés of pop songs, biblical references and more purposeful/intentional word therapy as I deal with my new living situation.
An audio recording of me reading more of the poem was quietly played inside the tent.
This is a small sample of the poem and tent.
